프리페아드・기타(영prepared guitar 문자 그대로에는 「준비된 기타」의 뜻)란, 기타의 현에, 고무, 금속, 나무등을 사이에 두거나 싣거나 해(이것을 「프리페아 한다」 「프리파레이션을 베푼다」 등이라고 한다) 음색을 타악기적인 영향으로 바꾼 것을 말한다.이와 같이 하는 것으로, 기타 본래의 음색이 없어져 금속적인 소리나 잡음이 많은 독특한 소리를 얻을 수 있는 것 외에 많게는 그 소리의 높이도 약간 불명료하게 되거나 원의 높이와는 다른 음높이가 되거나 한다.
