바카・무에르타 운석

바카・무에르타 운석(바카・무에르타 있는 기침해, Vaca Muerta meteorite)은 1861년에, 칠레에서 발견된 석철운석이다.비교적 드문 메소시데라이트(Mesosiderite)로 분류되는 운석이며, 3,782 kg가 발견되고 있어 지금까지 발견된 석철운석으로서는 가장 큰 것이다.

1861년에 탈 탈의 남동의 아타카마 사막에서 광산 관계자가 발견했다.은광석이라고 잘못할 수 있었지만 운석인 것이 확인되었다.그 후 11.5 km×2.1 km의 지역등에서 수백의 운석 파편이 발견되고 있다.
