lip stick・빌딩은, 34층건물 높이 138미터로, 주소는 뉴욕시 맨해튼동 53가(영문판)와 54가(영문판)의 사이의 3 번가 885호에 위치한다. 교차점의 맞은 편에 시티 그룹・센터가 있다.1986년에 완성했다.이 빌딩은 존・바 기(영문판) 건축사가 필립・존슨과 함께 설계한[¹].이 빌딩의 이름은, 그 색과 형태가 lip stick과 닮아 있는 것부터 이름이 붙여졌다.

이 빌딩의 구조는, 3단계세트 백(영문판)이 되고 있다.이 빌딩의 타원형의 토지 전유 면적은 통상의 사각형보다 적다.토대 부분은 2층 분의 높이의 렬주가 둘러싸고 있어 외벽은 화강암(임페리얼・레드)과 철로부터 되어 있다.련창은 회색이 되고 있다.이 곡면상의 외관은, 빛을 여러가지 방향으로 반사하게 되어 있는,
