Midori(미도리)는 마이크로소프트 리서치가 개발중의 매니지 코드를 베이스로 한 operating system(OS)의 코드네임.

개요

Midori라고 하는 코드네임은 CHESS: A systematic testing tool for concurrent software이라고 제목을 붙인 PowerPoint의 프레젠테이션으로 처음으로 일반적으로 밝혀진[¹]. 2009년 4월, 프로그램 언어 BitC와 operating system Coyotos[²]를 추진하고 있는 Jonathan S. Shapiro는, 마이크로소프트에서 Midori 프로젝트에 관해서 일자리를 얻은 것을 발표해, 2009년 8월 이후는 BitC에 대해 작업하지 않는다고 하고 있는[³].

기능

병행성을 중시한 설계로, 어플리케이션은 복수의 장소에서 동작할 수 있는[⁴].또, 완전히 새로운 시큐러티 모델을 채용해, 어플리케이션의 샌드 박스에 의해 시큐러티를 강화하고 있는[⁵].
