우주 X선배경 방사

우주 X선배경 방사(cosmic X-ray background; CXB)는 1962년의 로켓 실험으로 존재가 확인된, 우주로부터 등방적으로 오는 X선방사이다.

그 기원에 대해서는, 항성 모양의 천체나 활동 은하핵 에 있다고 하는 대형 블랙 홀등의 점원의 모임으로부터 되는지, 퍼진 고온 가스의 열제동 방사 유래인가 논의가 계속 되고 있었다.당초, 전체의 25~30%의 성분은 점원으로서 거의 확인되고 있었지만, 방사 모든 기원을 확인하는에는 이르지 않았었다.그러나, 높은 모퉁이 분해가능을 가지는 체드라 X선위성의 관측에 의해서, 우주 X선배경 방사의85%이상이 점원으로부터의 방사가 모아인 것이 판명되었다.
