쇄석

쇄석

쇄석(채석, 독일: Bruchstein)이란, 천연의 암석을 파쇄기등으로 인공적으로 작게 부수어, 도로용 골재나 콘크리트용 골재등의 토목・건축용 자재로서 적합하는 입도에 가공했지만 일을 말한다.

인공적으로 가공된 쇄석에 대해, 자연의 힘으로 작아진 암석으로서 천연 자갈이 있지만, 천연 자갈과 쇄석을 비교하면, 자갈은 전체적으로 둥글림을 띤 형상인데 대해, 쇄석은 모난 형상을 하고 있는 것이 많다.
