인지의 통일 이론

인지의 통일 이론(Unified Theories of Cognition : UTC)은 1990년에 출판된 알렌・뉴 웰의 저작인[¹].뉴 웰은, 인지 모델에 대한 일반적인 가설군, 즉 인지의 통일 이론의 필요성을 논의하고 있다.

UTC는, 지적 생물이 어떻게 환경으로부터의 자극에 유연하게 반응하는지, 그들은 어떻게 목적 지향의 행동을 나타내 합리적으로 목적을 습득하는지, 그리고, 그들은 어떻게 지식을 표현해(또는, 어느 기호를 사용해) 또 학습하는지를 설명해야 한다.
