긱크산족

헤이제르톤, 스키나천(Skeena River) 안에 있는 긱크산의 사람들(1901년)

긱크산족(Gitxsan 혹은 Gitksan) 캐나다 태평양기슭, British Columbi주 북부의 스키나강유역에 사는 미국주의 선주 민족의 한 살.민족이나 일족의 역사, 전설, 옛날 이야기, 치프등의 인물전을 전하는 트템폴을 조각한다.

언어 계통상, 북쪽의 니스가족과 함께 트무시족으로 분류되기도 한다.

Git 깃트 혹은 Kit 킷은 「사람들」, 'Ksan 쿠산은 「스키나강Skeena」를 의미해, 즉 Gitksan(Gitxsan이라고도 쓰여진다)은 「스키나강의 사람들」이라고 하는 의미가 된다.
