상두 사근(상등 사금)은 뒤쪽의 근육 가운데, 축 모밀잣밤나무와 후두뼈의 사이를 연결하고 있는 근육이다.머리 부분의 후굴, 측굴, 선회 작용을 가진다.

상두 사근의 기시는, 축 모밀잣밤나무의 옆돌기로부터 일어나, 후두뼈에 정지한다.
