카라쿰 사막(Kara kum은 테르크계의 언어로 「검은 모래」를 의미한다)은, 중앙 아시아의 투르크메니스탄에 존재하는 사막이다.

면적은 350,000 km□로, 동국의 국토의 약 70%를 차지한다.「죽음의 사막」의 별명을 가지는 것도 알려져 있다.

서쪽은 카스피해, 북쪽은 Aral해와 투 런저지, 북동에는 암다리야강과 키지르쿰 사막이 있다.

목축 지대이지만, 암다리야강으로부터의 카라쿰 운하에 의해서 관개 농업도 발달하고 있다.
