세계 아처리 연맹

세계 아처리 연맹(World Archery, 구칭 국제 아처리 연맹(프랑스어: Federation Internationale de Tiral'Arc, 약칭:FITA))은 아처리의 국제 조직으로, 현재 세계 156의 협회가 가맹(2016년 현재).본부는 스위스의 로잔.

역사

1931년, 폴란드의 바르샤바에서 프랑스, 체코슬로바키아, 스웨덴, 폴란드, 미국, 헝가리, 이탈리아의 7개국에서 결성.

FITA는 1931년의 설립 당초부터 세계 선수권을 개최, 1972년에는 올림픽 경기를 실시하고 있다.또, 월드컵의 운영도 행한다.

2011년 7월의 총회에서 국제적 인지도를 높이기 위해, 프랑스어 표기로부터 영어 표기의 「World Archery Federation(약칭：WA)」로 변경을 결정.이것에 수반해 일본어 표기도 「세계 아처리 연맹」이 되었다.

2012년 4월 1일에, 정식으로 「세계 아처리 연맹」이라고 명칭이 변경된[¹].
