찰리・루트

찰스・헨리-・루트(Charles Henry Root, 1899년 3월 17일- 1970년 11월 5일)는 아메리카 합중국 오하이오주 미들 타운 출신의 원메이저 리그 선수.오른쪽 던지기 오른쪽 쳐, 포지션은 투수.현역의 대부분을 시카고・카브스로 보내, 통산 201승을 주었다.

1923년 4월 18일에 세인트루이스・브라운즈로 메이저 데뷔를 완수한다.1927년은 절호조의 해로, 26승 15패를 기록해 최다승에 빛난다.1932년의 월드 시리즈로는, 베이브・르스에 예고 홈런을 맞고 있다(참조：베이브・르스#예고 홈런의 진위).월드 시리즈에는 4회 출장했지만, 모두 패퇴했다.

1970년, 캘리포니아주에서 71세에 사망.
