카라쥬무속의 분포도

카라쥬무속(카라쥬무 속편)과는 사트이모과의 속의 하나.카라지움속이라고도.학명 Caladium.일본에서 부르는 이름 하이모속.백로(시라사기)라고도 한다.

열대 미국, 서인도제도에 약 15종이 분포한다.이 속안에는, 잎이 아름답기 때문에 관엽식물로서 재배되는 것이 있다.구근(정확하게는 덩이줄기)으로 번식시킨다.
