뉴 조지아 제도의 위치

뉴 조지아 제도(뉴 조지아 제도, New Georgia Islands)는, 솔로몬 제도의 서부주에 속하는 제도.과다르카낼섬의 북서에 위치하고 있어, 산이 많이 열대 우림에 덮여 있다.주된 섬은, 뉴 조지아 시마, 베라 라벨라섬, 콜롬반 무늬섬, 기조섬, 방누섬, 렌드바섬, 테테파레섬이다.섬들은 산호초에 둘러싸여 있어 세계 최대의 소금물 라군인 마로보・라군도 존재한다.

다른 유명한 장소로서 후에 아메리카 합중국 대통령이 되는 존・F・케네디가 태평양전쟁중에 3일간 보낸 케네디섬이 있다.몇개의 섬들에서는 태평양전쟁의 전투의 자취가 남아 있다.

주요한 도시는 기조, 는다 및 우둔함이다.주요 산업은 임업과 어업이다.
