1910 년에 발표되었다. 발표 후 오랫동안여 연주 않았지만, 오케스트라의 1948 년 연주하여 애호가에 널리 알려지게 된 곡이다. 오케스트라 악단들의 음반 녹음이있다.

페드로 누마 코르도바 (Pedro Numa Córdoba) 작품의 가사가 붙여져 있지만, 가사없이 연주 많다.

또한 완전히 다른 곡이지만, 같은 제목의 러시아 노래 ""(Очи черные)도 콘티넨탈 탱고로 연주되는 경우가 많다.
