동인도회사 컬리지

동인도회사 컬리지(동쪽 인도 외제차 컬리지, East India Company College：동인도・컬리지, East India College라고도)는, 1806년에 설립된 영국 동인도회사의 행정 취직을 하는 사람들의 교육 훈련 시설.

현재의 헤이 리에베 리・컬리지.

이 컬리지의 설립에는, 영국 동인도회사의 회장으로 서민 국회의 의결원이기도 한 찰스・그랜트(Charles Grant)가 밀접하게 관여하고 있었다.당초, 만일 하트퍼드・캐슬(Hertford Castle)에 개설된 이 컬리지는, 근방의 하트퍼드・황무지(Hertford Heath)의 부지에 신축된 시설에 1809년에 이전했다.그 설계에 해당한 것은, 런던의 내셔널・갤러리의 설계를 다룬 건축가 윌리엄・윌킨스(William Wilkins)였다.

1856년, 그것까지 유력자의 지명에 의해서 임명되고 있던 인도 고등 문관이, 공모 경쟁 시험에 의한 채용으로 전환할 수 있었다.1857년에 인도대반란이 일어나면, 영국 정부는 1858년 1월에 인도의 시정권을 동인도회사로부터 계승해 직접 통치에 나서, 컬리지는 폐쇄되었다.1862년에, 컬리지는 퍼블릭・스쿨로서 재개해 헤이 리에베 리(Haileybury) 로 칭하게 되어, 1942년에는, 임페리얼・서비스・컬리지(Imperial Service College)와 통합 재편되어 헤이 리에베 리・앤드・임페리얼・서비스・컬리지(Haileybury and Imperial Service College)가 되었다.1980년대 이래, 컬리지는 공학의 인디펜던트・스쿨로서 운영되고 있다.
