오로라・허스키

오로라・허스키(영: Aurora Husky)는, 아메리카 합중국 알래스카주에서 20 세기 중반에 작출된 아라스칸・허스키의 1 계통인[¹].

알래스카에서 활발히 행해지고 있던 개조리레이스를 위해서 개레스・라이트(Gareth Wright)라고 하는 개조리레이서가 작출한 것이다.1940년대말 무렵에, 조니・알렌이라고 하는 유명 레이서로부터 양도한 「유콘・타나나・리버・독」(Yukon-Tanana Riber Dog)에, 아일리쉬・셋타나, 시베리안・허스키, 타기・하운드, 늑대등을 곱해 만들어졌다고 하는[¹].매우 타카아시로, 단거리 레이스로 몇번이고 승리를 거둔[¹].그 후도 라이트나 그 딸(아가씨) 록시・살페인(Roxy Wright-Champaine)의 개 축사로 순혈 번식이 계속되어 40년 이상으로 건너, 레이스에서 계속 이긴[1^].

오로라・허스키의 특징은 레드의 피모로, 눈동자는 푸르고, 귀는 늘어지는[¹].상하기 쉽고, 용이하게 시속 약 30 km로 달릴 수 있다고 하는[¹].등장했을 때에는 「얼굴이야말로 얼간이로 보이지만, 주행에는 일절 사이가 빠진 점이 없으면 평 된[¹].
