노트스티로프스(Notostylops)는 멸종한 포유류의 속이다.

생태

신생대 제3기의 2번째 시대 전기의 남아메리카 대륙에 생식 하고 있던 포유류로, 체장은 75 cm 정도[¹], 남제류에 속해, 특히 초기의 나카마(남 선조 아목)에 속한다고 여겨진다.

아르헨티나등에서 화석이 발굴되고 있어 골격에서는 토끼와 같은 외관을 해, 그늘의 잡초를 먹고 있었다고 추측된다.노트스티로프스는 넓게 번영한 속이며, 여러가지 생태적 지위에 적응하고 있었다고 여겨진다.두개골에는 설치목과 같은 절치가 있어, 절치와 어금니의 사이에「치극」불리는 틈새를 가지고 있었다.
