데루모 콕스밧줄(Thermococci, 사모 코카스밧줄)은, 유리고세균에 속하는 밧줄의 하나로, 해양열수역에 넓게 생육하는 초호열균의 그룹이다.
심해의 열수 분출구멍으로부터 자주(잘) 단 떼어 놓아지는 생물의 한 살.유전 광상, 얕은 여울의 열수역으로부터의 단리례도 있다.한편으로 육상의 열천으로부터의 분리예는 없다.해저 화산이 분화했을 때에 주위의 해수로부터 고농도로 검출되었던 적이 있어, 분포의 중심은 열수 분출구멍 주변의 지하로 보여지고 있다.
전종이 초호열성, 편성 싫증성의 종속영양 생물이며, 열수역에서 펩티드나 다당류를 분해해 생활하고 있다.수소에 의해 강한 증식 저해를 받는 것부터, 대사의 결과 생기는 수소를 유황과 반응시켜, 황화수소로서 제거하고 있다.이 때문에 단체 유황이나 황화 금속이 다량으로 존재하는 환경을 잘 좋아한다.일반적으로 사이즈1-2μm의 별로 특징이 없는 부정형의 구균으로서 관찰된다.대부분의 종이 다극의 편모를 가지고 있다.세포벽은 S층으로부터 구성된다(세포벽을 결손하는 종도 있어).그 외의 성질은 전형적인 고세균과 같다.
진화적으로는 유리고세균의 기초부 부근에서 분기 했다고 생각되고 있다.유리고세균에 있어서의 계통 관계의 일례를 나타낸다.
