Windows 칼라 시스템

Windows 칼라 시스템(WCS)은 여러가지 소프트웨어나 하드웨어로의 일관한 색 재현에 대응하기 위해서 Windows Vista로부터 포함된 컬러 관리 시스템이다. Windows 95로부터 Windows XP, Windows Server 2003까지 포함되어 있던 Image Color Management (ICM(이미지 칼라 매칭 ))의 슈퍼 세트로서 캐논이 개발한 Kyuanos (큐아노스)를 기본으로[¹]개발했다.

WCS로는 ICM(이미지 칼라 매칭 )에 존재하고 있던 다양한 제한을 해소하는 것과 동시에[²], 16비트의 sRGB 색공간[³], 32비트까지의 scRGB 색공간[³], 16비트까지의 CMYK 색공간[³], ICC 프로파일 v4를 서포트한다.

Windows Vista의 익스플로러나 Windows 포토 갤러리, XPS 뷰어, Windows Imaging Component가 WCS에 대응하고 있어, Microsoft Office도 Office 2007으로부터 WCS에 대응[²]하고 있다.
