이 역은 당초 1911년에 더블 데이&마크루아 출판사(Doubleday & McClure Publishing Company)의 설비(선로의 맞은 편에 있던 「컨트리・라이프・프레스」)에 편의를 도모하기 위해인 만큼 개업해, 그 때문에 그것이 역명이 된[2].컨트리・라이프・프레스역은 웨스트・헨프스텟드 지선 및 굴 베이 지선으로 연결되는 몇개의 한 때의 철도 용지를 가지는[3].그것은 Nassau・콜롯세움 부근에서 종료하는 롱 아일랜드 철도의 센트럴 지선의 옛날 건축의 잔존물도 포함한다.
