초자연

초자연(구해 상, 라틴어: supernaturalis)이란, 자연계의 법칙을 넘은 것, 이성으로는 설명이 대하지 않는 신비적인 모든 것[¹].

원래의 라틴어는, supra 슈프라(= ~를 넘은)+ naturalis 나트라리스(=자연)라고 하는 구성이 되어 있다.이 말은 15 세기 중엽에, 부사적으로 용 넣고 있었던 것이 확인되고 있어 자연을 넘었던 것보다 높은 영역에서, 라고 하는 의미인[²].현대 영어로는 형용사적으로는 supernatural, 명사적으로는 the supernatural으로 여겨진다.

스콜라 철학등에서도 초자연에 관해서 고찰을 했다.

설명이 대하지 않는 사상의 존재를 인정해 이것을 초자연적인 힘이나 신의 계시나 기적등에 의해서 설명하려고 하는 입장을 초자연 주의라고 말한다.
