북쪽은 바하・베라 패스현, 북동은 엘・프로그레소현, 동쪽은 하라파현, 남동은 산타・로사현, 남서는 에스크인트라현, 서쪽은 사카테페케스현과 치마르테난고현, 북서는 키체현과 경계를 접하고 있다.총면적은 2,126평방 킬로미터에 이른다.
